Jacksonville International airport begin offering a faster designated security lane at Jacksonville Airport in October.

frequent flyer who have elite status flight designations with airlines will be able to use a special lane to get through security screening.

In addition, business travelers who have premium prepaid monthly parking at the airport will also be able to take advantage of the faster security lines.

“We think this new customer service program will be a welcome addition at JAX,” said Michael Stewart, JAA Director of External Affair. “The new security express lane will be especially good news to our frequent business travelers.” JAA will announce the start date soon.
JAA is also planning to re-institute the registered traveler program once a contractor can be identified. Delta airlines flights price Increase

The major U.S. airlines will Increase fares for the seventh time this year, following a $10 round-trip price increase by United Continental Holdings Inc. and a rival carrier delta airlines move to recalibrate pricing.

Fare experts said Delta started the latest increase on Monday, which was matched immediately by American and a day later by United, Continental and US Airways.

Delta airlines confirmed the price hike but declined to give a reason. United, Continental and US Airways confirmed that they too raised prices.
FareCompare.com Chief Executive Rick Seaney on Tuesday said he expected Delta to come back with a $10 match, followed by US Airways. And Delta and US Airways indeed matched the $10 hike shortly after noon today.
American Airlines spokesman Ed Martelle said the increases covered first-class, business-class and tickets purchased up to seven days before travel. Flights up to 500 miles were boosted $20 each way, those from 501 to 1,500 miles were raised $40 each way, and flights longer than 1,500 miles increased by $60 each way, he said.

Rick Seaney, CEO of FareCompare.com said low-fare airlines wouldn't be able to block this increase because the tickets are sold at prices far higher than the discount carriers were already charging.

Airlines also claim that demand for leisure travel will be hurt if passenger fees for security and airport improvements are raised, as President Barack Obama proposed in his budget this week.

The proposed increases would add a few dollars per flight to the cost of a ticket, but Baker said it could reduce revenue especially at airlines such as Southwest, which cater to price-conscious travelers.

Why emirates airline tickets expensive

Why is united emirates airline tickets more expensive than other airlines

While many European and Asian airlines are known for superior in-flight service, Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar Airways have eclipsed these offerings, winning numerous awards for excellence. They are rapidly becoming the favorites of many business travelers. Besides limousine service on the ground, Emirates offers gourmet dining, 1,000 channels of in-flight entertainment, and private first-class suites complete with fully stocked individual mini-bars. Their new Airbus A380's have two showers on board with spas large enough to accommodate an entire family. although Emirates were voted the most expensive airlines in the UAE.customer are willing to pay the price for better service.

Emirates is one of several rapidly growing airlines based on the Arabian peninsula, a group that includes Abu Dhabi-based Etihad and Qatar Airways. These carriers boast brand new fleets of long-range, widebody aircraft and offer some of the finest service and accommodations in the sky.

Armed with new fleets, Emirates and the other airlines in that region are well-positioned to compete for long-range premium global air traffic routed through their centrally located Middle Eastern hubs. The recent economic boom in India and Asia, along with the introduction of a new generation of economical long range aircraft, like the Airbus A380, the Boeing 777LR, and forthcoming Boeing 787 and Airbus 350, make nonstop travel viable between cities clear across the globe. Previously, to reach most cities in Africa, India or the Middle East, U.S. travelers connected through major European transfer airports, like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, or Paris. Emirates and the other airlines in that region have another huge advantage over U.S. and European airlines. From Dubai, Emirates serves ten nonstop destinations in India, four cities in Pakistan, more than a dozen cities in the Middle East, a similar number of African destinations, more than 20 European cities, and another 20 or so ports of call in Asia and the Pacific. No European airline covers that breadth and depth of destinations outside Europe, and all U.S. airlines combined serve only two cities in India and four in the Middle East, with Delta as the only U.S. airline flying to Africa.

first class flight to china from india

India’s national carrier Air India convert the India-China via Bangkok flights into direct services, which would also cut travel time.

Air India now operate the non-stop direct services from Shanghai to Delhi, and onwards to Mumbai with B777-200LR aircraft, replacing the current A330 aircraft.
the B777-200LR has a capacity of 238 seats, with eight seats in First Class, 35 in Executive Class and 195 in Economy Class.

On the return leg, the flight departs Mumbai at 0815 hours, Delhi at 1150 hours and arrives in Shanghai at 2000 hours the same day.

With four flights a week, non-stop direct services would be operated from Shanghai to Delhi and onwards to Mumbai, skipping Bangkok, enabling faster travel, the airliner said.

The flights from china to India would be on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The travel time from Shanghai to Delhi would be around six hours and to Mumbai about nine hours, it said in a statement here.

When you snuggle into your newly installed, highly comfortable, 180-degree recline, sleeperette, we will ensure that you disembark at your destination just as fresh. The two-abreast seating ensures you are always in an aisle seat or a window seat. Never in between. The ethnic interiors, you will observe, are designed to be particularly pleasing to the eye. The Air show constantly screens your flight pattern, aircraft altitude and speed. And much more.

The gracious service, on the other hand, will be, like it always is, a perfect model of efficiency and discretion, Charming, yet never intrusive.

The warm smiles, of course, are on the house.

The fine art of exclusivity

As you sit back and relax aboard Air India’s First Class, you could well be forgiven for thinking you are the only passenger on board. The First Class cabin seats just 12 passenger.

airlines summer flight fare rise

Major airlines like Delta and American Airlines are adding "peak travel" surcharge on flights this summer, reports USA Today. The "peak travel" fee ranges from $10 to $30, applied to both departure and return flights, and is included in the cost of the ticket.
Airfares on these routes are notification-based and do not require approval from the ministry. For flights to the U.S., Canada and Brazil, passengers could pay up to 5 percent more. Those traveling to France, Germany, the U.K., Australia and New Zealand could face fare increases of up to 10 percent. Korean Air officials told Yonhap News Agency that “recent increases in costs have not been reflected in flight fares, and we plan to renovate the airliners to enhance the convenience of our passengers.”
Delta Air Lines offered flights this spring to some European cities for as little as US$138 round trip, taxes included. The offer was gone within a few hours, leading some experts to think it was a pricing error. Delta declined to comment.

The curious revelation comes from airfare data analyzed by FareCompare.com for USA Today, which concluded that the five major airlines -- American, Delta, Continental, United, and US Airways -- have added this "peak travel" fee on almost every flight from mid-June through mid-August. This is akin to the airline industry "treating the entire summer like a holiday," says FareCompare.com CEO Rick Seaney.

Air fares rose last summer as demand for travel increased and airlines tightly controlled the number of flights and seats.

Last June, average fares were 18 per cent higher than the summer before, although increases were more modest after that.

Airlines are continuing to add surcharges of US$20 to US$60 per round trip on peak travel days, including spring break, holidays and summer.

Many flights last summer took off with 90 per cent or more of the seats filled, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) forecasts that even more people will travel in 2011 than last year.

Qantas airlines recently imposed fuel surcharges

Australia's Qantas Airways Ltd said on Thursday rising oil and jet fuel prices have forced the carrier to increase its fuel surcharge by more than 50 percent for some international tickets.
Qantas chief executive Alan Joyce said the increase in the fuel surcharge would "not fully cover" the additional cost and the airline could not rule out further changes in the future.
Qantas has decided not to impose a fuel surcharge on domestic routes however this is under review

"Qantas has been closely monitoring the situation for some time now and has held off any move on surcharges for as long as possible," Joyce said in a statement
The Australian largest carrier said the fuel surcharge for one- way tickets booked on or after Feb. 19 for destinations in the UK and Europe would increase from the current 95 AU dollars (96 U.S. dollars) to 145 AU dollars (146 U.S. dollars), up 53 percent.

Flights to mainland USA, Canada, South America, South Africa and India would attract a 115 AU dollars (116 U.S. dollars) fuel surcharge, compared with 85 AU dollars (86 U.S. dollars) now.

And travelers headed to Asian and Pacific destinations, including Honolulu, will face a 75 (76 U.S. dollars) fuel surcharge, which is 20 AU dollars (20.20 U.S. dollars) more than what is being charged at the moment.

Qantas said its wholly-owned low-cost subsidiary Jetstar would not reintroduce fuel surcharges on its tickets.

"Jetstar will address the impact of higher fuel prices via adjustments to air fares in selected markets and increases in ancillary revenue, including baggage charges," Qantas said.

Alaska Air seatac mobile boarding pass

Alaska Airlines introduced electronic boarding passes in seven cities and also launched http://mobile.alaskaair.com.

The electronic boarding pass allows customers flying from Anchorage, Alaska; Boise, Idaho; Denver; Las Vegas; Portland, Ore.; Seattle SeaTac Airport ; and Spokane, Wash., to receive boarding information and check in with any mobile device.

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air will offer electronic boarding passes starting Feb. 24 to passengers flying from San Jose, Calif., and Fairbanks, Alaska. By late-March, electronic boarding passes also will be available for customers traveling from five California cities: Burbank, Long Beach, Ontario, Palm Springs and Sacramento. The airlines will expand the program to dozens of other cities throughout the year.

Customers using mobile devices should look for an asterisk next to the departing city during the online check-in process to determine which airports have electronic boarding passes. After completing the check-in process, passengers must save or bookmark the electronic boarding pass Web page for easy retrieval during the security screening and boarding process.

Like a paper boarding pass, travelers can obtain their electronic boarding passes at mobile.alaskaair.com up to 24 hours in advance and up to one hour prior to departure. Each electronic boarding pass displays an encrypted barcode along with passenger and flight information that is scanned and verified by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents at the security checkpoint. Passengers are still required to show photo identification to TSA agents.

New mobile access for Web site

The airlines also announced that alaskaair.com is now designed to fit small screens on hand-held mobile devices, providing customers with access to flight status information, flight schedules, Web check-in and flight alerts. Customers can also access "My Trips" to view their itineraries, change seats, check their upgrade status, and add an Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan number to a reservation. The mobile Web site also gives customers access to download electronic boarding passes.

Volaris, which is now Mexico's second-largest carrier (behind Aeromexico), first began flying to Oakland in 2008. In addition to the upcoming Mexico City service, Volaris also flies from Oakland to Guadalajara.
Providing background is the aptly named website Airlines and Destinations, which notes "Volaris CEO Enrique Beltranena once vowed his airline would never serve the overcrowded Benito Juárez, (given that Volaris had a large presence) at the much less congested airport serving Toluca, less than 50 miles to the west of México City."

air asia cargo rates and route network

AirAsia Cargo was awarded Asia’s Best Low Cost Cargo Carrier award in HKG on 09th March 2011 at the Aviation Awards Asia ceremony. Awards nominations were assessed by a panel of six distinguished industry professionals, taking into account individual nominees’ merits and achievements in areas such as: innovation, customer service, the deployment of technology to improve efficiency, safety-improvement initiatives and overall business strategy.
While shipments remains small, frequent flights allow the carrier to provide more competitive rates in the market due to under utilised cargo capacity, BT reported.

Osman-Rani said AirAsia's cargo rates can be up to 50% less than current market rates.
AirAsia identifies cargo as a major revenue-generating channel and a huge contributor to its ancillary income. The airline is optimizing the potential of its otherwise empty belly space to bring in cash by offering cargo services at rates considerably lower than its competitors’ and by tapping AirAsia’s extensive network and flight frequencies to reach more destinations and achieve faster delivery time.

AirAsia is strengthening cargo operations in part to protect its bottom line against fluctuations in fuel prices.

Asia’s largest low-cost carrier has been tying up with more cargo agents and large export-import firms in the markets that AirAsia flies to. It is also reaching markets beyond its current route network through other airlines with which AirAsia has special pro-rate agreements. These major airlines extend AirAsia’s reach to more cities in East Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

The AirAsia Cargo Service is a product that serves both the primary and secondary markets predominantly in ASEAN, Australia, Stansted, Orly, China, Taiwan and India. We are the first major low cost carrier to be actively engaged in the cargo service. The widebody feed through AirAsia X from Australia, Europe, China and Delhi augurs well with the cargo model we have developed for the narrow bodies that has unrivalled frequencies in ASEAN, serving the ASEAN region with cargo efficiently.”

The Cork Gran Canaria service will operate from Tuesday, March 29th to Tuesday, October 25th inclusive. The flights will depart Cork at 15.45 and return at 00.50. The Tenerife service will operate from Sunday, February 20th to Sunday, October 23rd inclusive. The flights will depart Cork at 20.40 and return at 20.15.

Kevin Cullinane, Aviation Marketing Manager, Cork Airport, said: “This latest Ryanair announcement of new routes from Cork Airport is positive news for the greater Cork region. Malmö Aviation Flight review

Malmö Aviation wins the Grand Travel Award in the “Best Domestic Transport Company” category and is named “Best Airline” by the Business Travel Award.

Malmö Aviation is the first Swedish domestic airline to launch a mobile phone booking function, which helps travellers manage their flights directly by mobile phone.
Bromma is a small and efficient airport. With short distances to everything from parking your car to luggage drop-off and security controls, the check-in process goes like clockwork.
Malmö Aviation Flight was operated by an Avro RJ100, with comfortable seats and sufficient legroom. Cabin crew was efficient and smiling. But the nicest touch was the free snack on board: tasty roast beef sandwich, orange juice, coffee/tea. I was rather impressed by the cabin service on this 1-hour-flight. The only negative point is the free seating policy; as usual it resulted in a free-for-all at boarding. Malmö Aviation is a very nice niche airline and I would strongly recommend it.
Malmö Aviation flies from Stockholm/Bromma to Gothenburg, Malmo and Umea.
International flights to Brussels and Nice.
At the end of the year, Malmö Aviation increased the number of departures on routes from Göteborg and Malmö to Stockholm-Bromma.

Malmo Aviation Bromma Stockholm City Airport

Bromma is a small central airport of Stockholm,Malmo Aviation is the largest airline using Bromma, Stockholm City Airport with daily flights to Malmö, Gothenburg, Umeå and Brussels.

Bromma's closeness to the city centre offers many advantages for those traveling in and out of Stockholm. It is sufficient to arrive 15 minutes before take-off. You will find the Malmö Aviation office just inside the entrance and our check-in doesn't close until 10 minutes before take-off.Indeed, an increasing number of passengers prefer Bromma for its central location.

Last year more than 1,3 million travelers flew in or out of Bromma, making it Sweden's second largest airport in terms of domestic traffic. Despite the numbers, Bromma prides itself on being a well laid-out, efficiently-run airport with no long check-in procedures. This helps us to keep to our schedules - to the extent that we have now become recognized as Europe's most punctual airline.

Bromma, Stockholm City Airport is steeped in aviation history. The terminal was officially declared a building of historic importance in 2000. That doesn't stop investment for the future: a spacious new gate has been opened, offering travelers even greater service and convenience at the point of departure. A new control tower has been built and the terminal building has been renovated to its original 1950's charm.

Iberia Business lounge London Heathrow

Iberia’s Business class passengers may use the new VIP lounge in the “Airlines Lounge F” zone of Terminal 3 at LHR Heathrow Airport in London.

The new space, dubbed “British Airways Galleries Club Lounge”, is shared by all the oneworld alliance airlines operating in London-Heathrow (Iberia, British Airways, Finnair and Qantas). Its area of 350 square metres can comfortably accommodate up to 300 people.

Noteworthy among the services offered in the new lounge are a self-service buffet, including fruits, yoghurts, pastries, cold and hot sandwiches, cheeses, salads, and more, plus a selection of wines and spirits. There is also a special “coffee corner”; Work Centre with 18 computers, fax service, copy machine, scanner and internet connection (plug and WIFI; and Spanish newspapers and Iberia’s Excelente and Ronda Iberia magazines, which are also available aboard Iberia flights, among others.

Iberia offers its Business Plus clients access to a new VIP lounge, the “Los Añejos” room in the new terminal at Guatemala City’s La Aurora airport.

The lounge boasts a relaxing, comfortable atmosphere, a private room for business meetings, wifi, television with premium channels and a large offering of beverages and snacks. Travellers can also sample some of the best aged rums in the world, since the lounge is operated by Rones de Guatemala, makers of the famous Zacapa and Botrán brand rums.

The lounge is situated just a few metres away from the international area, making it especially convenient for discriminating travellers.

Iberia new Business class for medium-haul flights

Iberia launches its new Business class for business travellers on the airline's longest medium-haul flights. The first flight equipped with the new seating class takes off today from Madrid to Malabo in Equatorial Guinea. Business Club seats will also be available on flights between Spain and Lagos, Moscow, Tel Aviv, and Cairo.

The new class is part of Iberia's Strategic Customer Service Improvement Plan, which led to the redesign earlier this year of the Business Plus class on the Spanish airline's long-haul flights, and the launch of new comfort-enhancing services such as exclusive access and “Fast track” movement through security controls, the extension of boarding by cell phone options to more destinations, and the upgrading of Iberia's VIP lounges.

The 14-seat Business Club section has two seats on each side, and 1.27 metres of separation between rows. The extra-large, 55-cm-wide seats are of completely new design, with adjustable backs, head rests (four positions), leg rests and foot rests. There is also and individual coat hook and a number of spaces for conveniently stowing personal items.

Each Business Club passenger may use the latest Play Station Portable (PSP), with an LCD screen, to watch late-release high-definition films or television series, or to listen to the ten audio channels with a variety of musical options. The PSP housing allows it to stand on the fold-down table in front of each seat.

Business Club passengers will be given an exclusive toilet kit of new design and can use a soft pillow and matching double-sided blanket, with a "polar" surface for extra warmth.

The new and more elaborate Business Club meal service features original main dishes created by Spain's celebrated master chef Sergi Arola, who also designed Iberia's Business Plus food offerings. A selection of Spain's most exquisite regional wines is offered to business passengers on both medium-haul and long-haul flights.

Business class passengers also get an extra luggage allowance and priority in luggage collection, exclusive check-in facilities, and three days' free parking at Madrid or Barcelona airports. They may use the new VIP lounges with all conveniences for relaxing or working, including a hot and cold buffet and a self-service bar. Iberia's Business Club passengers also get "Fast track" treatment in security control, which takes them through in less than two minutes. And in addition to all these advantages, they also earn extra Iberia Plus frequent flyers points.

Iberia Fast Track security checkpoint Madrid airport

More than 35,000 passengers have already used the fast track service offered by Iberia in the security checkpoint in Terminal 4 of Madrid Barajas airport from June 18th, the date it was inaugurated, until July 31st. Fridays are the days with a bigger influx of passengers, about 1,000 customers.

This exclusive security control facility may be used by passengers with Business Class tickets on Iberia or Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum flights, and for holders of Iberia Plus Gold or Platinum cards. The latter may also invite a companion to use this access to flights operated by Iberia, regardless of their seating class.

The aim of this service is to provide a better and a more comfortable journey to passengers who fly the most with Iberia. The fast track speed customer’s passage through the control area –procedures are expected to take less than two minutes.

Iberia has already relocated its Business Class check-in counters to the 780-790 counters area, in order to shorten the route to the new VIP security checkpoint.

The VIP access will be located to the right of existing security control points, in the corridor leading to two restaurants. Passengers need only follow the signs indicating “Fast track/Acceso VIP”.
