India’s national carrier Air India convert the India-China via Bangkok flights into direct services, which would also cut travel time.
Air India now operate the non-stop direct services from Shanghai to Delhi, and onwards to Mumbai with B777-200LR aircraft, replacing the current A330 aircraft.
the B777-200LR has a capacity of 238 seats, with eight seats in First Class, 35 in Executive Class and 195 in Economy Class.
On the return leg, the flight departs Mumbai at 0815 hours, Delhi at 1150 hours and arrives in Shanghai at 2000 hours the same day.
With four flights a week, non-stop direct services would be operated from Shanghai to Delhi and onwards to Mumbai, skipping Bangkok, enabling faster travel, the airliner said.
The flights from china to India would be on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. The travel time from Shanghai to Delhi would be around six hours and to Mumbai about nine hours, it said in a statement here.
