Alamo: Primary renters must be 25 or older in most states. Customers under the age of 25 pay a daily fee of $25.Alamo reserves the right to restrict under-age renters from renting certain vehicles.
Minimum age to rent a vehicle is 21. alamo car rental rates may be higher for renters between the ages of 21 and 24(To view young driver fee please go to the reservation page and select the location).
Certain specialty and larger sized vehicles may not be rented to drivers under 25.
Only these two states mandate age exceptions:
minimum age is 18 years of age New York State .
A $70.00 per day additional charge applies to 18-20 aged renters.
A $23.50 per day surcharge applies to 21-24 aged renters.
Effective May 1, 2011 an $80.00 per day charge will apply to 18 -20 aged renters in New York State.
Michigan:
The minimum age is 18 years of age.
A $28.00 per day additional charge applies to 18-20 aged renters.
A $14.00 per day additional charge applies to 21-24 aged renters.
alamo Special rates are available for US federal government and military personnel traveling with official or TDY orders. These rates are available at airport-serving locations. Customer must show official orders or government-issued credit card.
Request Official government rate at time of booking to receive the below benefits. Rates are available for travel to all US and participating Canadian, Latin American and European locations.
There is no cash deposit.
There is no additional driver fee.
There is no extra fee for drivers under 25.
CDW is included in rate.
For rentals in the United States and Canada, the minimum age for rental is 18 years old.
For rentals in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, the minimum age for rental is 21 years old.
