us airways Upgrade on Star Alliance carrier

US Airways joined Star Alliance Upgrade Awards. Now, when traveling on a Star Alliance carrier, Dividend Miles members can use their miles to upgrade to business or first class. It's fast, easy and convenient. Here's how it works:

"We're giving Dividend Miles members more options to redeem their miles for the benefits they value most," said Fernand Fernandez, US Airways' managing director, customer loyalty and marketing programs. "Using your miles for one-class upgrades can make your trip more enjoyable and provides Dividend Miles members a new option to redeem their miles across Star Alliance carriers."
Dividend Miles members book a full-fare economy class or business class ticket with any of the participating Star Alliance member airlines
Dividend Miles members visit usairways.com/starawards to process their Star Alliance upgrade (members will need their confirmation number, flight number and booking class)
US Airways will confirm available upgrades and automatically deduct the miles from a Dividend Miles account. Then the Dividend Miles member can show up to the airport ready to enjoy their Star Alliance upgrade.

In addition, frequent flyers with other Star Alliance upgrade award-participating carriers are able to use miles towards an upgrade when traveling on US Airways. Members can contact their frequent flyer program to upgrade their US Airways flight to First class or Envoy, including the airline's new A330-200s featuring the Envoy Suite lie-flat sleeper bed, to make their travel more comfortable.

Star Alliance upgrades are valid with the following airlines & frequent flyer programs: Air Canada (Aeroplan), Air China (PhoenixMiles), Air New Zealand (Airpoints), ANA (ANA Mileage Club), Asiana Airlines (Asiana Club), Austrian, Brussels Airlines (Miles & More), Continental (OnePass), LOT Polish Airlines , Lufthansa (Miles & More), SAS (EuroBonus), Singapore Airlines (KrisFlyer), SWISS , TAM (Fidelidade), TAP Portugal (Victoria), THAI (Royal Orchid Plus), Turkish Airlines (Miles & Smiles), United (Mileage Plus) and US Airways (Dividend Miles).
