Volaris Airlines will add daily direct flights between México City’s Benito Juárez International Airport and Oakland Airport in California on May 6

Mexican low-cost carrier Volaris Airlines is based at Toluca near Mexico City and operates a fast-growing network of Mexican domestic services and routes between mexico and the United States using a fleet of Airbus A319s and A320s
To book cheap tickets on the new service, go to www.volaris.mx, call the Volaris Call Center al 1-800-122-8000 or contact a travel agent.
Volaris notes that Oakland International Airport is the second-busiest in the San Francisco Bay area and the fourth-busiest in California overall after Los Angeles International, San Francisco International and San Diego’s Lindbergh Field.

The northbound flight leaves Mexico City at 7:55 p.m. ET and lands in Oakland at 10:30 p.m., all times local. The Mexico-bound flight will leave Oakland at 12:20 a.m. and land in Mexico City at 6:30 a.m.

In addition to Volaris' normal ticket-sales options, its Mexico City flights also can be purchased via its partnership with Southwest via Southwest's website. Itineraries available to Mexico City via Southwest's website include Oakland as well as connecting flights (via Oakland) from Seattle, Portland, Spokane, Boise and Reno.

Volaris, which is now Mexico's second-largest carrier (behind Aeromexico), first began flying to Oakland in 2008. In addition to the upcoming Mexico City service, Volaris also flies from Oakland to Guadalajara.
Providing background is the aptly named website Airlines and Destinations, which notes "Volaris CEO Enrique Beltranena once vowed his airline would never serve the overcrowded Benito Juárez, (given that Volaris had a large presence) at the much less congested airport serving Toluca, less than 50 miles to the west of México City."
